This course is provided by the College of Body Science, not the Upledger Institute UK so please see www.collegeofbodyscience.com for more information and a detailed course syllabus.
This is the basic anatomy and physiology training, leading to a Certifiacte in Body Science. It is equivelent to a level 3 qulaifiaction and is recognised by a number of governing bodies as accaptable for their trainees.
We cover all the body systems and the basic pathologies of each that you are generally most likely to come across. It Includes the Inside the Cranium Course.
It is provided as an intensive course time-wise - 4 blocks of 3 days - and also does require a good amount of home study, even if you have some familiarity with the subject. There are 90 hours of tuition and around 40 hours of home study expected. This includes some personal tutorial time between the different weeks. There is 'homework' and an exam at the end. The revision time required gives you a great chance to pull everything together and really is worth the effort!
The pathology section of the course includes a visit to the Gordon Museum of Pathology at King's College London, a facility not open to the public. An extraordinary place, it houses a huge selection of pathological tissue specimens and can really help understand us some of the results of different disease processes.
As in all our courses we vary the ways we present different material, using lectures, games, group work and even visualisation to cover the topics in ways that suit everyone's learning style. We encourage skills in communicating and applying this knowledge, as well as discussion of issues in biomedical science relevant to complementary health.
